GREEN PARTY - FAVERSHAM COUNTY CANDIDATE8th April 2005Gary Miller is standing as Green Party Candidate for the Faversham division in the County Elections. After 15 years working as a postman, Gary has recently become a freelance website designer. Gary says: "I have lived in Kent all my life and now live in Faversham with my wife and two cats. I am a member of Swale Friends of the Earth group and campaign on issues, big and small, that affect the people of Faversham. I support this town the best way I know - by using it our excellent swimming pool, the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Centre, the Arden theatre, the library and by giving my business to small local traders, who are run by and employ local people. I want to see the town and community of Faversham thrive in the future." The Green Party is fielding 33 candidates in the Kent County Council elections, on Thursday 5th May. The Green Party had the support of 25,000 voters in Kent in the European Elections of 2004. The Kent Green Party manifesto can be found on the front page of the Kent Green Party website: www.kentgreenparty.org.uk or can be requested by ringing 01233 645167. The Greens are calling for a democratically elected County Council, through proportional representation; for an end to the Kent Test; for more educational choice for young people at age 16; for a move towards an energy efficient Kent with traffic reduction in urban areas and energy conservation and renewable energy for homes and businesses.
