GREEN PARTY CANDIDATES KENT COUNTY ELECTIONS

7th April 2005

The Green Party is fielding 33 candidates in the Kent County Council elections, on Thursday 5th May, 12 more than last time. The Green Party had the support of 25,000 voters in Kent in the European Elections of 2004. The Green Party will also be fielding 4 parliamentary candidates in the General Election(1). The Greens are calling for a democratically elected County Council, through proportional representation; for an end to the Kent Test; for more educational choice for young people at age 16; for a move towards an energy efficient Kent with traffic reduction in urban areas and energy conservation and renewable energy for homes and businesses.
