Steve Dawe adopted as candidate for Wye, Ashford

7th March 2003

The Ashford Green Party has concluded its first adoption of a candidate for the Ashford Borough Council elections. Higher Education lecturer Steve Dawe has been adopted to stand in Wye. Further candidate adoptions will be announced later this month. Steve Dawe is already actively involved in a door to door survey of Wye residents. The intention is to produce a Wye Village Transport Strategy in late 2003, reflecting residents' opinions. Steve Dawe comments:

"I am very pleased to be standing in Wye ward. This area has a strong community identity and a surprising number of active village associations. This ward has the distinction of having provided the Ashford Green Party with its two parliamentary candidates of the last two decades: Dr Andrew Porter and Richard Boden. Few local election candidates are likely to have advisers of this quality.

"I would like to extend an open invitation to residents of Wye Ward to ring me with any queries they may have concerning my campaign to become their councillor. I can be contacted on 01233 645167 or by email at stevedawe - at - gn.apc.org Relevant information may also be found on our website:
